God’s Debris

I was reading this book “God’s Debris” by Scott Adams and thanks to Vatsa and Gana for recommending me to read this book. Though I generally don’t like reading books which preaches something (for the same reason I didn’t like “The Alchemist” much though its one book which is appreciated by almost everyone!), I really enjoyed reading this book for its coverage in the way we can think and analysis the situation. He is trying to give a new dimension all together whether we like it or not. It’s something which I could appreciate and enjoy. At times being sensible is not always important, its important to look at bigger picture, think differently and approaching the problem.

Few things which I would like to share here are:

Every other question has an answer to why. Only probability is inexplicable.
The answer to this question is just wonderful :)
What is in the package?
It’s the answer to your question.
Your inability to see other possibilities and your lack of vocabulary are your brain's limits, not the universes.
In the extreme long run, probability is just as fixed and certain in its outcome.
At times, I easily get convinced, until I find another way.
Stress is a result of fighting probability, and the friction between what you are doing and what you know you should be doing to live within probability.
Intelligence is a measure of how well you function within your level of awareness.
Awareness is about unlearning. It is the recognition that you don’t know as much as you thought you knew
Mind is an illusion generator, not a window to reality

And the illusion generator leaves us with an illusion (which we interpret it as reality) that we are superior and everything that attributes to this is our perception, assumption, illusion, brain’s power, sensing system and so does nonsense ;)

This book reminds me of an old and weird thinking of mine. Couple of years back I was developing a feeling that, what we see (any structure) might not be of that shape in reality. We see it the way our eye perceives it, our brain cells processes it. Same structure might look differently by another (different) animal which can see with different brain and illusion system.
Our illusion, perception and the interpretation leaves us with what we see and judge and some other living being might see it totally differently. We feel it the way we see it (Here is a catch, there are people, who can’t see, but they can still feel but some how I have a convincing answer to this too!). Whenever I am all alone and I look out of the window, through an open space, I still get disturbed by this.

When I shared this with Vatsa, this is what he said, “Oh yes :), we seem to create a system of pattern recognition that just makes sense for activities that we perform. A solid object supposedly has small nucleus and large open spaces!! I will get a book called 'Phantoms in the brain', super study about neurology.

I sent this write up to Sushma and now I want to add her reaction (Dated 10th of Sep 2008) after reading this:

Man spends most of his life, in stories and illusions that he has created and believes them as true and fights for them, blames others, dies for what he believes, but what he believes in reality could be questionable :)
At the sametime this man is being a source of perception to others about the world!
For example: His child will learn from him, i.e. he basically passes on all his illusions and stories onto the next generation and so on. And thus continues the life of such perceptions :)

Life is beautiful, absolutely amazing!! If there is God, he is absolutely marvellous bastard!! :)

That is quiet an amazing bit.. So that leaves us wondering if all the arguemnets that we have with others are baseless in whatever context.. Because, we cannot see or think in angle in which the other person's brain is funtioning.. what you think is true, is true only to you.. not necessarily to others.. If we can understand this 1 basic thing in our life, we can lead such a peaceful and happy journey... But, I have realized that, to understand this the duration we take is 1 life.. and it's interpreted by us only in the epitaph...!!!
